An Abimis Ego kitchen in a panoramic villa among the hills of Fiesole
Abimis kitchens furnish special homes, and this panoramic villa surrounded by the Florentine hills is certainly no exception.
We’re in Fiesole, an incredibly picturesque town just outside Tuscany’s capital. This place is famous for its stunning views over Florence in the distance, framed by lush green hills.
Here, on the brow of a hill with gorgeous views, stands a wonderful historic villa whose materials and style bring to mind typical Tuscan architecture.
This charming residence, which once belonged to a famous Florentine painter, enjoys a prime location; you can enjoy breathtaking views over Florence’s rooftops from every window and from the villa’s terraces.
The villa has multiple floors and perfectly blends in with its natural surroundings.
The large garden around the villa is outlined by small walls made using the same stone that features inside to divide the various rooms.
The interiors have been renovated respecting the original features, but with the precise objective of creating a functional and contemporary environment. A modern and sophisticated style, creating a pleasant contrast with the decidedly traditional feel of the external structure.
The various rooms offer a warm and relaxing atmosphere, where everything is designed with maximum comfort in mind. The walls and coffered ceiling in the living room, for example, have been painted in an unusual “teal blue”. This is certainly a dramatic colour, contrasting with the dark cement floor and reddish tones of the corridors, where the bricks of the barrel vaults have purposefully been left visible.
Bare bricks, ancient wooden beams and strip flooring also characterise the kitchen, which is dominated by a unique version of the Ego model by Abimis, made from orbitally polished stainless steel.
The kitchen, made up of three sections, was designed and made to measure in order to make best use of the space available, ensuring maximum functionality. The cooking area features a system of cupboards, integrating the extractor hood and other functional elements. On the opposite side, there is a large area dedicated to washing and preparing food. Both sections feature bevelled flush doors with a completely invisible hinging pivot, perfectly integrating with the rest of the structure. All of the stainless steel worktops are made without any gaps; this is not just for aesthetic reasons, but also makes them simpler and quicker to clean.
Next to these two sections, a third area has been designed for the pantry. The worktop in this area features reinforced and extractable shelves, designed to make it easier to use the microwave and slicer. The designer added brass handles with rounded edges as a finishing touch, creating a pleasant contrast with the stainless steel and giving the entire composition a touch of elegance.
Ego by Abimis has once again shown its innate skill for creating bespoke solutions. In fact, the trapezoidal shape of the room made it necessary to create a fully made-to-measure kitchen. A project designed down to the last millimetre that perfectly blends in with the elongated and irregular shape of the room.
The Ego kitchen by Abimis is made entirely from AISI 304 stainless steel.
