In the heart of the vibrant city of Dubai, where elegance meets luxury, stands an extraordinary residence that has captured the attention of a family passionate about Italy, in particular Italian design and, above all, our culinary culture.
The design of the important kitchen, which dominates the living area, was carried out by Abimis, an Italian company specialising in the production of professional kitchens made of stainless steel. This bespoke solution has transformed the home into a culinary oasis on the edge of the Dubai Desert, one of the most fascinating and visited deserts in the world, plunging into the Arabian Gulf.
And it’s right on the sea that this villa stands, in the picturesque setting of Jumeirah Bay Island, home to one of the city’s most renowned residential neighbourhoods.
Designed by Tehila Shelef studio, this grand residence is characterised by its rich materials, natural colours, custom-designed furnishings and exclusive swimming pool with direct access to the sea. It is a harmonious blend of architecture and design. A charming and relaxing home, surrounded by a breathtaking landscape, between the sea and the desert, which offers the hosts an extraordinary experience of life.
The history of this villa begins with a couple of Dubai entrepreneurs and their passion for high quality cuisine. The owners – a family who work between the United Arab Emirates and Italy, a country they love as a second homeland – decided to trust in Abimis to make their dream kitchen come true.
The master of the house in particular, an amateur chef passionate about gourmet cuisine, expressed the desire to have a working environment that was not only complete and highly functional, but also above all aesthetically ‘surprising’. Not a kitchen to hide, therefore, but one that blends in perfectly with the bright spaces of the house. A kitchen to be proudly exhibited and in which to cook his favourite dishes, both traditional Arabic and Mediterranean cuisine.
An Ego kitchen by Abimis is the heart of the residence
On the ground floor of this sumptuous house, the central element is therefore represented by the large Ego kitchen by Abimis, which the architects have been able to integrate skilfully into the design. Its configuration is designed to cater for intimate moments at home, but also for optimal preparation for the sociable dinner parties that often animate the home.
The couple chose Abimis because of their desire to combine top performance with high aesthetic quality. And the Ego kitchen proved to be the ideal solution for them. A kitchen made of orbitally polished stainless steel, handmade to the design of the architects, which immediately became the main feature of the living room on the ground floor.
Three top performance kitchen elements
The large Ego kitchen consists of three elements. The first is a large central island, topped by a professional hood.
Here the different cooking systems – a gas hob, a ‘teppanyaki’ grill plate and an induction hob – are arranged for preparing dishes of different culinary traditions, but also to create fine banquets for many people.
The second element, located under the large ribbon windows, is reserved for preparation and washing. In this case it is a long block, interspersed by two tall columns that house the pantry and a refrigerated wine cellar.
Here the top and back are made of white marble, a refined touch that softens everything and recalls the stone of the dining tables.
Finally, the adjacent wall has been equipped with full-height columns, still made of orbitally polished steel, containing refrigerators, ovens and another glazed wine rack for keeping drinks cool.
Ego kitchens: sophisticated design inspired by the ‘50s
The Ego collection, conceived through a collaboration with the architect Alberto Torsello, is Abimis’ absolute top of the range kitchen. It stands out due to its sophisticated design, soft and elegant lines and rounded flush doors integrated into the structure. Invisible hinges, ring handles and the ergonomic skirting board add a touch of class to the minimalist line of the kitchen.
All-Italian kitchens that furnish homes across the world
But the strong point of all Abimis kitchens is the possibility to be made to measure, to the centimetre, according to the needs of the customer or the designer. Every Abimis kitchen is 100% made in Italy. Thanks to Abimis’ personalised services, after a survey by the company’s technicians, it can be delivered, installed, finished and tested anywhere in the world.
Like the kitchen of this villa that seems to have been built here and not almost 6,000 km away, given its size and the difficulties represented by the complexity of the project.
A story of passion for good food
In this luxury setting, every detail tells a story of passion for good food and a love of design. The Dubai family has created a space that not only reflects a sophisticated lifestyle, but also offers a unique living experience.
And the Ego kitchen by Abimis plays a key role in this. It stands as the beating heart of this residence, and represents the place where conviviality and culinary creativity come together in one authentic experience.
