Milan, the city that represents the epicentre of design and innovation, hosted an event of great interest that laid the foundations for a sustainable future in the construction and design sector.
Let’s talk about the conference “I’m Steel Here”, which presented the first communication campaign on the sustainability of designs made of steel. An initiative organised by the Steel Promotion Foundation, under the patronage of Enea (National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and sustainable Economic Development), Federacciai, the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and the Lombardy Region.
The event, which took place in Milan at Palazzo Lombardia, highlighted the importance of steel as a key element for a circular approach and a zero-impact future.
“Steel offers countless solutions and brings great advantages with it such as durability, safety, convenience, flexibility and sustainability,” underlined Claudia Maria Terzi, Councillor for Infrastructures and public works of the Lombardy Region. And Italy is the second largest steel producer in the European Union and eleventh in the world.
However, the “I’m Steel Here” conference highlighted an often underestimated aspect: the sustainability of steel.
Steel is recognised as one of the protagonists of the ecological transition, thanks to being circular, versatile, resistant, durable and recyclable infinitely without losing its properties. The Italian steel industry is a model of sustainable innovation, with more than 35% of the sector’s investments aimed at improving environmental performance and environmental certification of products.
Moreover, with a target of 85%, Italy has the highest rate of steel recycling among European Union countries.
The versatility and sustainability of steel are also applied in the world of high-level designer kitchens.
“Its low environmental impact and the ability to be reused almost indefinitely make steel a fundamental material of the circular economy,” said Anna di Gironimo from Covivio.
Steel is a material that offers innovative solutions also for kitchens. Safety, flexibility, durability, aesthetic quality and performance, recyclability…
Hygiene is also a key element in a kitchen. And stainless steel, a non-porous and naturally antibacterial material, is the ideal choice to ensure a clean and safe environment in your home.
8 reasons for choosing a steel kitchen
Abimis, a pioneer in the production of stainless steel designer kitchens, has always shown a strong commitment to sustainability.
Abimis’ choice to use only recycled stainless steel underlines its commitment to this.
The AISI 304 stainless steel kitchens by Abimis are ergonomic and functional, and easy to clean and sanitise. They offer the same high performance as professional kitchens. They are beautifully designed and can be adapted to any home environment.
And, above all, stainless steel kitchens represent the most practical solution for all those who strive to minimise their environmental impact and that of the house where they live as much as possible.
The “I’m Steel Here” conference therefore highlighted the importance of steel as a sustainable material and the fundamental role it plays in the most virtuous contemporary designs.
Choosing an Abimis kitchen therefore means choosing a future where steel and sustainability go hand in hand, with full respect for our planet.
