Cooking in your mountain home as you gaze out at the rocky peaks of the Dolomites is a unique, bewitching experience. One that a successful chef from Veneto wanted to enjoy when he purchased his mountain chalet in Cortina D’Ampezzo. His request from the architect was imperative, namely: “The kitchen in my mountain home must have a window with a view of the Dolomites”.
The Dolomites are indeed his mountains. The mountains where he spent his youth working in his uncle’s restaurant in Cortina. He had a crystal-clear recollection of gazing out at those sheer and rugged mountains from that very same restaurant kitchen. As the years went by, he grew from a young apprentice into a star chef, his job allowing him to travel the world. Yet when he inherited this old family chalet, he decided he wanted to enjoy the same experiences all over again. He refurbished the entire property, moving the huge, bright kitchen to the most attractive and panoramic part of the home. This way, every time he returns to Cortina, he can relax at the hob, preparing his favourite dishes as he admires this breathtaking view.
An Ego kitchen by ABIMIS
Having grown accustomed to the high performance levels of restaurant kitchens, he wanted a professional kitchen for his home in Cortina.
