TOP 5.  The most beautiful Ego kitchens with a mirror polished finish - Abimis

The Ego kitchen

Ego is the first kitchen presented by Abimis. The kitchen from which “everything began” 10 years ago.

With the Ego model, Abimis has revolutionised the concept of the kitchen itself, bringing a professional-derived kitchen into the home for the very first time. A top level designer kitchen completely made of stainless steel: one that performs as well as a restaurant kitchen, but that has been conceived specifically for the home.

Designed in collaboration with the architect Alberto Torsello, Ego can be distinguished by its rounded shapes inspired by the kitchens of the 1950s.
Like all Abimis kitchens, the Ego model is fully customisable. Each individual kitchen is designed to the centimetre and handmade in AISI 304 stainless steel.
The steel is available in 3 natural finishes – hand-orbitally polished, brushed or mirror polished – or can be painted in any RAL colour.

And it is precisely the Ego kitchens by Abimis in a mirror-polished finish that we want to talk about today.
We chose the 5 Ego kitchens with a mirror finish from the vast range by Abimis that we believe to be among the most beautiful and representative. These kitchens are made in-house and then shipped all over the world. Each kitchen is installed and hand finished directly in its final location by Abimis personnel.
So here’s ours

1. EGO IN NEW YORK

We are in a luxury designer apartment in New York City, on the 39th floor of a skyscraper on the world famous Fifth Avenue, with a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline.

The Ego kitchen, although not very large, is a real jewel … Made to measure to optimise the available space, it was ordered in mirror polished steel so as to be brighter and make the room look bigger.

The cooking block and the washing block have been arranged opposite each other, while a system of columns and containers covers the full height of the other two walls.

2. EGO IN FLORENCE

In Florence, a contemporary loft, created in an old disused factory, revolves around the large open-plan kitchen and living area.
The Abimis Ego island kitchen, made of mirror polished steel, is the centrepiece of the design. It successfully separates the kitchen from the dining area, but without interrupting any social activity.

A steel sideboard with an oven and refrigerator, also by Abimis, is placed against the back wall.
To contrast with the island’s mirrored surface, the columns have been made of hand-orbitally polished steel. A matt finish, with a warmer appearance to the eye and silky to the touch.

The worktop, which houses the cooking and washing area, is completely free from joins to ensure maximum hygiene, practicality and ease of cleaning.

3. EGO IN PARIS

We are located in an elegant residence in the heart of Paris, in the very central Boulevard Saint Michel. An Ego kitchen by Abimis, also made of stainless steel with a reflective mirror finish, is the main feature of this apartment with a contemporary look.

Like all Abimis kitchens, this island is also an actual “domestic sculpture”. A monoblock made of AISI 304 stainless steel without any joins or visible welding, handmade within the company and then finished in its final location.

On the top of the kitchen is the built-in sink, the flush hob and the also the retractable hood.
The kitchen creates a beautiful play of reflections with the anthracite grey walls and ceiling, which highlight the mirror finish of the steel, chosen by the owners.
This kitchen is a perfect example of functionality and ergonomics, technology and top level craftsmanship. A mix that has always characterised the products of the Veneto-based company.

The mirror finish is also the result of a long and elaborate manual process, which makes every Abimis kitchen a real jewel to enjoy every day.

4. EGO IN DUBLIN

In the centre of Dublin stands this old, restored building, in which a mirror-finished steel Ego kitchen by Abimis creates a beautiful play of reflections with the old brick walls.

The owners wished to have a super functional kitchen, with personality and a contemporary design.
This is why the designers chose a professional type kitchen, the Ego model by Abimis in a mirror finish stainless steel. This finish gives light to the whole environment and creates pleasant plays of contrasts with natural materials and antique furniture.

Abimis’ great Ego kitchen expresses itself here in a corner composition. On the back wall, the cooking and washing block is topped by wall cabinets, also made of steel with a mirror finish. On the sides of the brick chimney, which houses an ancient wood-burning stove, two other steel modules by Abimis have been installed for storage and organisation.

5. EGO IN MUNICH

The spectacular kitchen created for this exclusive private residence in Munich, is the hundredth Ego kitchen created by Abimis.

A very substantial island-style kitchen, which has become the undisputed protagonist of this large open space.
Made of stainless steel in a polished mirror finish, the Ego island houses the cooking area, the washing area and the work space.
Custom-designed and entirely made from AISI 304 stainless steel, this configuration of Ego allows maximum freedom of movement, making it easier not only for different the cooking stages, but also for everyday life in the kitchen. The ergonomics is another strong point of all Abimis kitchens…

In addition to the central island, Abimis has also built a kitchen wall with a series of columns with steel doors, made with an orbitally polished finish, combining the refrigerator, oven and various storage compartments.
