The professional performance levels and impeccable design of Abimis kitchens furnish a typical Irish home.
We are in the heart of Dublin, in a residential area distinguished by some of the most classic Irish architecture. Those long rows of terraced houses which have featured in many a film, with exposed brick façades, a garden at the back and the interior spanning several storeys.
One of these houses was recently transformed by a remarkable refurbishment project which completely redesigned the interior layout, especially in the living area.

Directly connected to this room is the area dedicated to preparing food, one of the owners’ great passions. Indeed, to satisfy this passion, the designers opted for a professionally-derived kitchen by Abimis.
An Ego model in mirror-finish stainless steel in full view. Thanks to its gleaming reflections, this solution adds light to the entire setting and creates enjoyable contrasts with the natural materials and period furniture.
One of the strengths of this design is the skilful mixture of differing styles, materials and colours. The polished stainless steel of the Abimis kitchen, the pale oak parquet flooring, the exposed brick fireplace painted black, the blue and white ceramic tiles in the niche, the white walls, the transparencies of glass…
The large Ego kitchen by Abimis in polished stainless steel forms a corner composition. The back wall plays host to the cooking area and the washing area. This element is topped by wall units, which are also in mirror-finish stainless steel, and open-fronted shelves. An old brick fireplace splits the side wall in two. On either side of the fireplace, which now accommodates an old wooden stove, there are two more modules from the Ego kitchen by Abimis. To the left, the lower one, which links up to the kitchen block in the shape of an L. To the right, a system of full-height tall units. These two elements are used for storage.
The Ego model stands out for its exclusive recessed plinth, which makes for greater flexibility in all the chef’s tasks. In this case, the designers modified it to accommodate a request from the owners, who wanted to have bowls and pet food within easy reach at all times for their beloved dogs. The plinth was therefore integrated with practical completely concealed drawers, with push-pull opening, in orbitally-polished stainless steel. This solution further emphasises the polished mirror finish of the doors.
The entire Ego kitchen by Abimis was made in AISI 304 stainless steel, a special alloy, which is particularly hard-wearing and suitable for kitchens since it is antibacterial and easy to clean.
Stainless steel is a highly expressive material, which is simply perfect for designer solutions, since it is devised to create truly scenic effects. Which is exactly what the designers of this house in Dublin have demonstrated, in this solution that incorporates stainless steel in several finishes – polished mirror and orbitally polished – with outstanding styling results.
