Built to the specific requirements of its owners (a family of German entrepreneurs who picked Lake Como for their holiday home), the Atelier kitchen by Abimis is made entirely of AISI 304 stainless steel, a biologically neutral metal that does not release any substances onto food, is corrosion-proof, built to withstand temperatures of up to 500° C and is 100% recyclable.
Its bespoke construction includes innovative details, characteristics and equipment traditionally used in professional restaurants and catering businesses. Atelier, in this case featuring the orbitally polished finish, is distinguished by squared doors which provide a clean-cut, tidy image of the kitchen, while the rounded internal compartments – also in stainless steel – make for rapid cleaning as they provide less opportunity for dirt to build up. The simple yet striking and formal design of Atelier is combined with the ergonomic handles from the Ego kitchen.
The ‘horseshoe’ configuration of the kitchen separates the cooking area, the washing area and the range of tall units – complete with appliances and storage compartments for food and utensils – which thus prove divided yet complementary, to optimise every single task.
The entire worktop, from the washing area to the cooking area, is hard-wearing and joint-free to guarantee the utmost practicality and maximum hygiene.
In addition to the styling and functional characteristics, this Atelier kitchen also stands out for its method of transport. Inside the villa, the kitchen occupies the space overlooking the patio, directly on the lake; after the usual pre-assembly at company headquarters, the kitchen was air-lifted to the installation site by helicopter.
