A kitchen adapted to the cook’s movements

Abimis kitchens are based on observation of the cook’s movements and the consequent destructuring of the kitchen. The aim is to make the 5 cooking steps – storage, preparation, cooking, plating, and washing – quick and logical. To give home cooking the same tools as the great chefs use.

This new kitchen idea comes from the collaboration of Abimis with various professional figures: the chef, the designer and the ergonomics expert. Each one contributed their skills, knowledge and know-how to the project. The chefs provided input on how a chef interacts with the kitchen. The ergonomics experts and designers interpreted this input, creating a beautiful and functional kitchen.
Finally, the company worked the stainless steel, giving shape to the project.

1. Storage

Storing food is the first step in cooking. Fresh food is essential in the kitchen, which is why the ingredients must be stored correctly, paying utmost attention to hygiene.

Abimis offers several solutions to ensure safe and optimal storage of food.

  • Refrigerated compartments use professional-derived technologies to ensure perfect food storage.
  • The cold control system allows the temperature of the different compartments to be modulated and monitored at all times.
  • The compartments are designed to accommodate Gastronorm containers and the shelves can be pulled out.

2. Preparation

Comfortable and durable worktops for processing ingredients.
A well organized space where everything is easily accessible.
This is the first aspect to consider during the preparation step.

Abimis proposes different solutions to accompany the preparation step as best as possible.

  • The worktops are made of stainless steel.
  • The skirting board of the kitchen is retracted to take advantage of the full depth of the working area, and is adjustable in height.
  • The interior spaces of the drawers are divided in a very functional way.

3. Cooking

Cooking is the moment when ideas start to take shape.
It is the moment when pots and pans speak an ancient language, based on mumblings and enveloping aromas, bringing back distant memories that live in us.

To ensure maximum performance during the cooking step, Abimis offers several solutions.

  • The cooking elements can be professional on request.
  • The heated drawers, under the working area, keep the dishes warm until they are ready to be served.
  • Every kitchen is designed to accommodate ovens, blast chillers and any type of appliance the customer desires.

4. Plating

Plating is a real art.

In order to express themselves well, chefs need a practical and functional space.

Because only in a kitchen where everything is well organized will it be possible to plate food that will amaze family and friends.

5. Washing and cleaning

After using the kitchen, it must be easy to clean.

Hygiene is a fundamental aspect in any kitchen, whether professional or domestic.

That’s why all Abimis kitchens are designed to be hygienic and easy to clean.

  • The worktops are made of stainless steel without any joins.
  • The modules have rounded internal corners to prevent dirt and bacteria from nesting there.
  • The patented Ego hinges are completely invisible and very easy to clean.
  • The food waste disposal bins are refrigerated to neutralize odours and prevent bacterial growth.
